6 art brooches with number SMALL

I enjoyed creating these pieces so much! These brooches are made out of wood clay. I purchased this material 3 years ago but I got comfortable with it only recently. Sometimes it takes time to "understand" a new material. I love this clay because it's very strong when dry and because it's made from real cedar wood.

This time I decided to give titles to my brooches. Each one of these pieces is a small artwork that could be added to your outfit but it could also be framed in a shadow box for display.

Bell 1 copy

Hello my friend!

I have been sooo busy. I'm still very busy. My brother Alex came from Miami as I told you before. He installed my beloved ceramic kiln and now I have the basic infrastructure to start my ceramic adventure. Yay!!

After Alex left I realized that I needed to do a major de-cluttering in my studio so I starting working on it. I have been donating lots of things to GoodWill. I hope that some creative people find the supplies and books that I'm donating.

I have a lot to do other than cleaning up. My shows and other projects keep getting closer and closer to the deadline. But I'm excited about everything. Soon I will be blogging about a series of beautiful brooches that I finished recently. They will be available for reservation.

The picture above is a new necklace. A bell-shaped pendant with a woman painted on the front of it. The woman's legs are painted inside the bell. Very cute :) I need to take more pictures of it...

Have a wonderful day!

Elsita :)

Five New Pendants.

Here are some new necklaces made out of paperclay painted with acrylic paint. Each one comes with a sweet black ball chain. They are so special in person! I give them a really nice finish that includes several layers of matte varnish. When the surface is very dry I apply some aromatic oil to make them water proof. They look beautiful on a black background. I hope that you enjoy looking at them :)

I'm working on 10 new necklaces that I'm absolutely loving. There is a little piece of my heart in each one of them. I wanted them to be little artworks filled with tiny details and lots magic. I can't even tell you how much I enjoy this kind of work. It's very therapeutic.

I can't wait to show you all of them in detail! Stay tuned!

A necklace named: Rush Hour :)

Rush Hour Necklace detail 2

Rush Hour Necklace detail 3

I see humor in the idea of rush hour. Everybody wants to get somewhere as soon as possible. As the traffic gets slower and slower some people start turning into little monsters. Some put on mad faces, some make lots of noise. Some start making phone calls announcing that the world is going to end because they're going to be late! The street becomes a little jungle.

Well, that urban jungle inspired me to create this necklace. Next time when you're stuck in traffic think about this necklace and maybe you will feel better :)

Materials: paperclay, acrylic paint, wood, wool felt, metal. (One of a kind)

This is an idea that I wanted to materialize for a long time. The other day I finally started working on it. But I had to push myself to go to bed because I  didn't want to stop. It was very late at night and I was still working. I had the best time painting all the tiny details. These pendants look so much nicer in person. I gave the surface a waxy finish that is very attractive to the eye.

Materials: Paperclay painted with acrylic paint and finished with several layers of matte varnish (for the waxy finish). The antique-bronze-looking chain is included.

If you want to reserve one of these necklaces just write me an e-mail: [email protected] or send me an Etsy conversation.

Each one is $55.
