Here is my second painting of the year. It was inspired by two different elements: the victorian era and this quote by Henri Matisse: "There are always flowers for those who want to see them". I liked this quote so much that I am also making a miniature book based on the idea behind it. I'm using the lady from my painting in that little book. I will be sharing it with you soon :)
About the painting:
Title: Flower Vision
Size: 14" x 11"
Acrylic paint on canvas.
(UPDATE: The print from this painting is already listed on my Etsy shop)

So evocative and thoughtful an image...her right hand resting like a wing....the dark, warm colors...and those thorns . . . I love that you paint people, Elsa.

There is such an intense stillness about her, as if she is willing the viewer to look at the flower, as she and even the birds are.
And the bird with the long tailfeathers, following the flow of her dress, so exquisite.

I have joined such club doing painting. We have painted our walls in schools but unlike other students I haven't joined some contest related to it. I feel somewhat so special with that talent but I'm not gifted like others do.

Nature has a way of soothing people and making them connect with their inner selves. Perhaps that is why landscape paintings are so popular. Beautiful flowers, trees, mountains, rivers, deserts and greenery all over – nature’s wonders are the best muse an artist can get to be inspired.
