I took new pictures of my Frida Kahlo dollhouse for you :)
Dollhouses need a deep cleaning once in a while, just like regular houses.
I use canned air because it's so practical.
When all the dust goes away everything look so nice :)
Here are the pictures for you:
I made this house for my daughter Natalie many years ago.
The house itself comes from an unfinished wooden kit that I purchased called:
I made some changes to the original kit.
Then, many of the objects in the house I made from different materials.
The rest of them are little treasures that I collected from here and there.
When we have visitors in our home, specially kids, this dollhouse
comes to life because they love to play with it.
Dollhouses are lots of fun for kids and adults :)

Qué preciosa Elsita!!! Yo creo que a Frida le hubiera encantado vivir ahí adentro :)

So incredible and so beautiful! I was re-watching the Salma Hayek movie about her this past weekend. I adore Frida and her artwork! This inspires me to have my older students make dollhouse versions of some of their favorite artists! Thank you soo much for sharing all of your amazing work!

I adore pouring over each photo and noticing all the details you added I am blown away.(A fun note is that I used to have that tea set when I was little!). Btw I am still enjoying your Rain Girl print I purchased....I just love it.

It looks like you based your house on Frida's house in the suburbs of Mexico City. Have you been there? If you haven't, it is really quite wonderful and there is a gallery space with her painted diary. Her kitchen was fabulous, too. And there is a mini pyramid in a walled garden, and an upstairs studio filled with light overlooking it. Just a wonderful house. From what I have read, this was the house she inherited from her parents. Her father was a Dr. She and Diego Rivera also lived in a modern apartment not far from from this house. We made a point to visit all of Diego Rivera's murals and the house while in Mexico City. It was the art tour.

The detail is fabulous-love every corner.
I also made a doll house from a kit back in 1992. It's so dusty and I was thinking about storing it, but maybe I'll do something different to it. Thanks for the inspiration.

It's one I'll remember. It's so inspiring and gives me a new perspective on challenges in life. I will especially remember this line, "As long as I wake up to a new day every morning, no matter what the circumstances are, I am always sure that everything will be alright." Thank you for being so willing to share.
