Last night I was ready to collapse.
I was all stressed out, tired, physically and mentally exhausted from all the current demands in my life. I wasn't sad or depressed, just plain worn out from one more non-stop day.
I had just finished cleaning the house after doing a million things, the kids were finally asleep and Bill was reading a book. So I went up to the studio to bring some art materials from the house and on my way back I stopped for a second because I noticed the full, radiant, incredible moon blinking at me in the dark sky.
It was an unexpected magic moment. The perfection of the Moon and its magic luminosity made me think of "her" as a loving and caring Grandmother. The Moon has been up there for sooo long! Imagine how much she has already seen from her quiet place in the universe. Looking at her was soothing and comforting. After taking this picture for you I went back to the house feeling renewed and happy.
We're small imperfect human beings in the middle of a vast universe. We're going through life trying to figure out the best way to do so and while doing so, we often forget that there is beauty in it, in being imperfect. Last night I was lucky enough to stop the "race" for a second to just BE, I was just there, taking a picture of the Moon, tired but alive.
I'm so grateful to be human. Thank you Moon, for helping me remember that :)

Elsita, you are an amazing woman. Thank you for the optimism you bring to my days!

the wonders of mother earth make you feel soft an warm insight
a sort of energie in wich you feel small, and with that your state of mind at that moment
so the only thing left to do when you feel this is being greatfull

I too was stopped by that moon last night and struck with awe as well. It is magical to know that you were looking up at that same moon on the other side of the country with me.

What makes it even more magical is that it was the Harvest Moon... signaling the shift from Summer to Fall.

Thank you for that - unfortunately I looked up and said, "full moon, so that's why my kids were going crazy today!" Your perspective touched me.

The natural world and universe always stops me in my tracks and makes me thankful to be alive and able to experience it in all it's splendor.
Last night was a very special harvest moon and solstice combo. It really was more than a little magical.

One of the best aspects of living up high in an apartment building is my panoramic view. I can see the lake, the gardens next door, the penthouse across the street and the cityscape to the west. It always gives me a feeling of being part of something vast and lasting beyond my years. I love it.

I saw the moon like that last night as well. Sometimes seeing those wonders just take the breath out of us in awe.

Cat.
