I am so excited about sharing this new doll with you!
She is made out of wood.
Carefully painted with Acrylic paint (in black and ivory).
And protected with several layers of satin varnish.
She's about 4" tall.
I wanted the painted motives on her body to look like one of my papercuts :)
Holding her in my hand makes me smile :) Maybe she will remind you a little bit of this :) I think that that mug was the real inspiration behind this doll.
Happy Monday!
Elsita :)

What a beautiful and delicate work. I really love your doll!

Now, isn't she adorable? You are certainly gifted! The mug you painted and referred to is exquisite! My first impression was Alice in Wonderland. Nice work. ~karen

This is gorgeous, and I look forward to more! But on a personal note, THANK YOU! My grandmother gave me a Kokeshi doll years ago when I saw it sitting by her door and exclaimed how cute it was. I asked her to tell me about it, but she just shrugged and said, it's a doll. Nothing about where she got it, or it's significance from Japan. Now I have a little more information behind this little doll of mine - starting with its name. Thank you!

This is gorgeous! I love kokeshi dolls and you made a really cute one from that inspiration. Also, the drawings did remind me of paper cut outs :)
