Dear friend,
Today I am so excited to report that our talented Artists Natalie Horberg and her sweet and amazing cousin Camilla (the Pink Crock Girls :o) attended their first Art Fair ever.
This event took place in front of our house on Saturday, July 11th with a total of two participants. They were the exact same Artists mentioned above: Natalie Horberg and Camilla Mora.
The event was a great success! After about 5 hours of intense work producing the pieces, but mostly chasing customers around, the artists came out with a total of $12 in sells. They sold 12 beautiful creations for a dollar each. Yay!!!!
I wish that you could have seen the comedy-like dynamic between Camilla and Natalie. Just picture Camilla tall and discreet next to Natalie who is so petit but very outgoing when it comes to convincing people about buying art. Camilla walked a little bit around looking for potential customers and once she located one she run back to our house to let Natalie know. At this point Natalie took care of the situation: she run as fast as she could toward the customer and with her persuasive techniques she made him/her come to our house to see the products.

Yaaaaaay, I'm sooooo impressed! Keep up the good work you two! :0)xxx

Beautiful art work. I would definitely buy some of those pieces to add to my Natalie Horberg collection.
A very good investment indeed. You girls should open an etsy shop!!!

This post really made me smile. How cute this idea is. I could just picture the girls chasing down your neighbors to buy their art work. What great enterpreneurs these two are. Of course, their family has some great role models in that regard. jan

Congratulations girls. I'm really happy for you. You will remember your first business-event for the rest of your lives. Let's hope for the rest of the world there are many more to come.
Did the candy taste good?

Now they should have their own ETSY! They would sell so much art there. I would definitely buy some of their art to put on my refrigerator door since I don't have any kids myself! :)

What a wonderful job they did! I love the idea - such a great take off on a lemonade stand - I wish I had walked by! Maybe you should list some of their art on your Etsy site! Where I used to work there was a young man (19ish) who has disabilities - he would walk up and down the street singing and dancing and come in to say hi all the time. When I asked him if he was doing anything else - his response was "you know I am an artist!" Then another day he was sitting in front of the local coffee shop and stopped me to look at his work. He told me which one I should buy (since I had sons) - I bought it and he was So SO Happy! Keep posting their work for us!

They are too cute! Marketing is a very essential skill in an art career, it sounds like Natalie has a gift for this ;-)
Good work girls.

As you know, it's important for an artist to have someone who believes in them and their abilities. It's wonderful you are encouraging the girls to follow their talents. I think the other comments about opening an Etsy shop is a great idea. Congratulations on your 1st sales!

I am so happy for Natalie & Camilla - Congratulations!! And I am very impressed with their confidence and initiative - Fantastic!!!!!. I still have a difficult time asking people to buy my work. Perhaps they would consider being my sales reps?

Yay for their first art sale! And if you are in Idlewyld, yay for the great old-fashioned candy story. I was there 4 years ago and had great fun picking out candies that I remembered from my childhood. :-)
