Yay again!!!
And here I am back with some new little treasures from the whole list of things that I have been making lately. These pendants are a dream come true and I say that because I had them in my dreams for a while. After some little experiments I was able to bring them to life.
Not too long ago I saw this beautiful antique red and yellow car somewhere on the streets of this city and I just fell in love with the colors. The red was so red and glossy, like deep red lipstick and the yellow was so mellow :o
These colors traveled immediately through my visual channels and made themselves comfortable into a special file that I keep in my brain for color combinations. For a while I kept thinking about creating something using these colors. And then, a pendant idea was born.
In my mind I saw a little bird attached to some kind of background. I tried different birds in my experiments but they were not my dream birdies...but then I found these special brass vintage birdies
on an Etsy store and I completely fell in love with them, they were the ones I was looking for! So beautiful and dramatic! (They were raw brass but as you can see I added some colors to make them more alive :)
Regarding the rectangle on the background I tried polymer clay first but it wasn't ideal...but then I found these perfect wooden tiles also
on Etsy and they were just meant to be for this pendant because they gave me enough area for including a little painting.
Then I found the
bails here and tara!!! I was really close to my dream pendant! The rest was the most enjoyable part of the whole experience...finding the perfect composition, painting, glazing...
Now that I finally see them finished I am so happy!! Yay!!
I hope that you like them as much as I do :) I would love to make some special new ones to share with you on my Etsy shop, I will try to do it as soon as I have a chance. (The rectangle measures 1" wide x 1-3/8" tall x 3/16" thick)
Lots of love!!!
And have a great Friday and weekend!
Elsita :)
AND ON MONDAY, YOU WILL SEE THE ADORABLE black and ivory LADY CAMEO PIN THAT I CREATED, IT WILL BE AVAILABLE ON ETSY AND I LOOOOOVE IT!
I love how you turn seemingly random supplies from etsy into magnificent pieces of art. Thank you for sharing!

They truly are a dream come true..... I dream of wearing one.....
Isn't it funny where we get out inspiration from. My blog colours came from an old VW camper we saw on our travels......
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creations - they really are a delight!
With love
