Dear friend!
I am so excited to be back in this blog with some wonderful news! Bill and I recently had our parent conference with Natalie's teacher and she is doing amazing. Then the teacher said something great: Natalie has been identified as gifted in the categories of Visual Arts and Performing. Isn't that wonderful?!!!
We had already noticed her extraordinary talents since she was one year old, but as parents we always see our kids as little genius. Hearing this directly from her teacher was such a beautiful experience :) Being in this category is important for Natalie because it will help her get into the right programs/schools in the future. Natalie is currently attending a public Magnet school and we couldn't be happier with the place. (Our dream is for our other little genius to attend the same school in the future when he's ready. I will tell you more about him tomorrow :)
Yay!!! Viva Natalie!!!!! She is also very modest, we explained her everything about being gifted but she just gave us a little smile (like in the picture) and then she kept drawing on the kitchen table. That's something special that we love about our little girl: she has a beautiful soul.
And have a great Monday!
Elsita :)
And on The Hidden Seed today:
A Sunny Yellow dress :)
Well proud mummy, your little apple didn't fall far from the tree. But it is wonderful news.
It is always good to hear when a kid really found his or her place in school. Today I'm having the parent conference of my oldest and I'm looking forward to it because his teachers are so taken with his talent that it is a joy to go. (He is a little bit older, so I already been to a few.)
Enjoy your great news, it is a medicine you won't find at any drugstore.

I am with Elizabeth and would add from little acorns great oak trees grow. I am so honored to be the proud owner of a drawing she made of my little snail friend. I knew she was gifted in art from the very first drawing I ever saw her do. I can't wait to see the artist at work in person :) I will definitely make sure she has an inspiring visit.

Who would doubt that your children would be artists? You provide the genes and the early training and encouragement. Congratulations.
Who knows where she could go from here?

The creativity in parents is planted in their children. Then You and Bill are so nurturing it just has to blossom! I am so delighted with the news! You need to post some of her artwork here!

I am so happy for her and you!
It is not always easy being the
old sister... but she is an amazing young lady. I am glad
that she is doing so well at
school, it is great that you can
be there to nurture her!
She's a cutie too!
Can't wait to hear about her
brother!
Loads of love to you and your sweet
family.
Rane and kids.

Isn't that such a lovely feeling to get that kind of affirmation from an objective professional? I feel so happy for you, Natalie, and your whole family. I love Natalie's smile, too. She seems to be saying, "yes, mama, that's fine if the world needs a label for me; I'm just happy doing what I do."

I'm so proud of you, Natalie. Of course we all already knew you were gifted in these areas because your Mom shares your creations with us. But it IS great to get validation from objective sources. HOORAY!
Elsita, I'm so proud of you and Bill for nurturing your children so lovingly. Way to go!

Such an adorable photo...you must be a very proud Mummy of your little Natalie!
Doesn't your heart just grow immensely when you're told such things about your children and how they're doing well.
I know mine does.
My daughter is very modest too and I so hope it stays that way...
Enjoy your day!

what only gifted in performing arts - ha! my niece is gifted in so many ways they haven't even come up with categories to measure such talent! they need a category for comedienne, dancer, letter writer, smiler, etc. etc. with youth like Natalie, Diego and Miro we are in good hands.
Thank you for providing such a beautiful environment for these preciosas to thrive.
besitos mami

It's so wonderful to hear your beliefs confirmed when you lack the objectivity. Hurray for Natalie! I'm sure her gifts are the results of many things... one I am sure of: the creative model you are for her each day! Maybe you could share some more of her work with us... I'm sure it's ever evolving.
