Bird Conversation or The Good Listener :)
And here you can see my #6 and last papercut for the show at The Three Graces Gallery next month. I am sooo glad that I finished the series in a record time!!! Yay!!!! It was a lot of work but as we know hard work doesn't kill you if you really enjoy it, I AM A PAPERCUT SURVIVER! :o
This piece is about listening. The girl in the picture is carefully paying attention to what the little bird has to tell her. He has lots of wise ideas to share with her and she is treasuring every words. This papercut is a reminder to myself about the idea of listening, specially to my children. The truth is that we learn more by listening than by talking, that's why I am going to stop talking right now...
But before I do it I wanted to share these quotations about listening with you:
Be a good listener. Your ears will never get you in trouble.
Frank Tyger.
“Everything has been said before, but since nobody listens we have to keep going back and beginning all over again.”
Andre Gide.
We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.
Epictetus.
Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
Stephen Covey.
Sorry that I am still talking :0 :o :0 :o just wanted to say HAVE A GREAT DAY!
And see you tomorrow!
Elsita :)

Simply amazing, Elsita! What I love about this one is that even with all the exquisite details that as such a delight to admire, it also seems that I get a larger sense of the conversation between them, the emotion, etc. It's as if you drew expressions on their faces even though they still remain blank silhouettes.
What an incredible collection and show this will be!

Love! And so true about listening. If only we get could some of our politicians to understand the value of opening up their ears!!!

I saw the flickr picture first and thought it was obvious that the sweet little bird was giving advice or direction and now I know that is just what you meant it to appear as. You are so good. In my profession I think being a good listener is the most important thing and second to that is being able to admit you don't have all the answers but that you are able to guide people in the ( hopefully) right direction. Sometimes I wish I was a bunny with very large ears to hear absolutely everything especially the quiet sounds of the forest.
