Blank Book Project (Day 10)
Our last Blank Book experience was sooo much fun!
I created three fruit characters representing my Mom, Natalie and Myself and then we made up all kinds of funny stories about them. It was a great game. Of course we ended up eating our creatures and that was the whole point of the game (we wanted to re-enforce a positive idea about fruits in Natalie's imagination). Grandma Margot told Natalie that if we eat our fruits they stay alive forever in our bodies but if we don't do it they end up in the garbage can and that's really sad. Natalie couldn't agree more with her. Of course she later started asking questions like: How is it possible for so many fruits to live in my tummy? We told her that they just become sooo tiny, it is impossible to see them but that way they leave plenty of space for other fruits to come down to tummy town. She thought that this idea was really funny.
Have a great day and see you tomorrow!
Elsita, Margot and Natalie :)

I have been loving reading along with the blank book project. These fruit creatures are great!

Your book making is wonderfully creative. What a treasure it will be for your little one when she is older. Today's post reminded me of when my daughter was a bit younger. We used to tell her the fruit and vegetables were going to a party in her tummy, so she mustn't leave too many on her plate or they'd be left out of the party. Looking back I'm not sure this was a good strategy, though she's a pretty good eater. Thanks again for sharing your family creations - they're wonderful.

Okay this time I love your mom's creation the most. That banana character is the best and brought an immediate smile to my face. He does look a little green though so I am not sure he tastes as good as he looks. Do the little fruit creatures have names. I would love to learn them . I used to make fruit plates for snack time when the children came home from school and turn the plates into faces, creatures and fantasy forests. Too bad I never took pictures of them.

Hi---I just found your blog from another and I had to comment on how much I enjoy your creativity! I love to make things out of food (mostly on the Bento side of things) and these little creatures are so fun. I'll have to try this with my kids... I'll be back to visit your blog again...

Elsita, This has been such an inspirational project. I have been watching it from it's inception and it is brilliant! I have been encouraging my budding artist 10 yo to follow along and she is quite impressed (and i hope encouraged). Thanks so much for sharing.xo, suzy

This idea would make an excellent children's picture/story book with these photos as illustrations. You are multi-talented. Please consider making such a book. There are many digital presses now where such a book could be sold without you spending a dime!
