The Fires in California.
We wanted to get away from the city today so we drove with the kids and Grandma all the way up to our cabin in the mountains just to find out that the air here is worse than in Los Angeles. This is really bad for you it is hard to breath. So maybe we will go back to the city later. In the city everything looks gray, the air is so dirty. We need a huge rain!!! Mucha agua por favor!!!

Dear Elsita,

I hope you and your family are allright now because I read about the fires.
With love,

Thank you soooo much Carla!
We are doing fine here in Los Angeles but the air is still so bad.
I hope that very soon it gets better.
It would be great to have a little rain.

I grew up in Los Angeles and Orange County...so I know fires and Santa Ana winds very well. When I was child we lived in Modjeska Canyon. There was a very bad fire in the 70s and we had to be evacuated. The flames stopped 10 feet away from our home before the wind shifted. The scariest part for me was when we had to let our horses go wild. We were hippies back then, no one had horse trailers. I will always remember that.
My aunt lost her home in these recent fires, she lives in San Diego. I'm glad I live in London now...I sure don't miss the heat and the winds!
