Mi Amiga
This is Uchi and she is now on my Etsy store. I made this creature inspired by my best friend when I was in the 4th grade. She wasn’t the best-looking girl but she was one of the sweetest human beings that I have ever met. She had some developmental problems so she was slower than the other kids in the class. This made her a target for cruel jokes. I kind of became her bodyguard. One day her mother came to school to talk with our class and explain that my friend needed our help because she was sad etc. and we shouldn't make fun of her. Everybody was quiet listening. After she left and my friend came back into the classroom this one mean boy told her something horrible! I am very pacific but I remember that I couldn't stand that so I punched him on his face :o . I was so mad for what he did, he was so insensitive. And it worked because he never did anything like that again. Since that day my friend and I became like one person, we were always together. She was one of the best friends that I ever had.

I'm glad you stuck up for your friend, that is so nice, especially for a young person to do :) I love that you have a blog, I have added you to my blog-visiting links on mine. I really like your work. It's sort of silly and fun yet calm at the same time. That is what I think anyway! I love the colours you choose too :)

I love your work, and your story about your friend - you punched that kid, good for you! Sometimes punching is the answer. My son is on the Asperger's continuum, very functional, but there's a lot of people stuff he totally doesn't get, and he gets teased at school. I wish I could make myself young and go stick up for him, but I coach him from home. He punched a kid once, but it freaked him out more than the kid, because he's such a pacifist, and it's important to him to do the right thing.
