Feathers

This piece is part of a series (from 1999) where I recreated some old photos from my collection. There are 12 pieces in the series. It is hard to see it but in this picture the man is giving the lady a dead bird. A little bird that I guess they used in the studio for giving more meaning to the scene. There are so many lectures behind this photo :). These are the kinds of photos that I like to collect. They are innocent but at the same time ironic. Notice how everything is so fake, the background etc. but you want to believe that it is real because these two people look just so perfect.

"Seashells". This one is from the same series. Take a look at the detail. Isn't this photo amazing? Look at the expressions of the faces. And just the whole idea of the photo. I die to know the context in which this photo was taken. I added tiny seashells and wood sticks directly on the fabric. All these pieces are framed in shadow boxes. I have them in my studio.
