That's me :)
I am exhausted but that's OK. It is always a great responsibility to take care of the whole family, my art and everything else, but I put my heart in it and I just keep going. In the last picture the bird is falling asleep just like me. I haven't slept well for a long time, I go to bed late and I wake up early. I would like to sleep for 24 hours, that's my number one dream right now.
But in the end I am so lucky that I am alive. I can move, I can think, I can create things with my hands and I am really grateful for that. The perfect life doesn't exist for anybody but we can get closer to it just by keeping a positive mind :)
And after this little confession about how tired I am I need to keep flying :)
All my best for you today my friend and thank you so very much for the wonderful energy that you send me through my blogs, that's an important part of what keeps me up and running.
Elsita :)
Hola Elsita

Sé buena contigo y recupera fuerzas pronto.

That is really a coincidence because I was thinking of doing a confession sort of blog post myself soon which included a bit about the dramatic changes in my sleep pattern over the last year and look now you scooped me. I love your paper bird sleeping and awake. It is amazing with all its complex layers. I am so surprised you never but yourself if you are so tired and I keep studying the papercuts for blood spattter. If you did cut yourself I could really creatively sew you back up again :)

((hugs))
Take care of yourself as best you can because if you're not well, they'll all feel it.
Be well.

I agree with Mim. You have to come first, because if you're tired and not well, you won't be able to put as much energy out. Get some rest :)

Mama birds need their rest too! It's good to reflect on the positive as it seems to bring about only more positive in one's life.

I think you're one of the strongest, most positive people I know, but even YOU Elsita need sleep!:0)Many famous people have survived and thrived on only a few hours sleep a night soooo it IS possible!!!! An important thing according to Reverse therapy (Google it!)is to get a balance between what you HAVE to do and what you WANT to do every day!!! Sounds like you have a healthy balance in your life Elsita, but definitely getting more sleep would be a bonus! :0) Big hugs, xxx

I know I will keep sending you energy - it is the least I can do for the joy and inspiration I receive from you! Sleep is important...I know because I have sleep issues too - and have consulted sleep doctors who just want to drug me - but I have tossed the pills to figure it out for myself....and will keep you posted if anything really works.....but yo need to try to rest to keep well for your wonderful family. Take care and hugs to you

It just seems impossible to fit it all in, doesn't it? I would just observe that you have a very rich life, and it's a long journey, so be sure to take time and rest and refresh your soul every now and then. Everything looks so much nicer on at least one good night's sleep a week. After all, you need to dream to keep that creativity going!!

Sending you lullaby wishes...

I know exactly what you mean, with so much to do it's really easy to try to make the day have more hours by burning the candle at both ends. I have to stop myself from staying up late (like last night). Take care Elsita and I hope you get a good night's sleep soon.

I have been there before. Too much to do, too many commitments, too many ideas. I ended up getting very sick and run down, not very good for my family! Take care of yourself, your art and those ideas will always be there!

How about taking one day just for you...a day in a spa, body massage, etc, etc???
Get some rest, be well!
Hugs,

I just had a chance to look at my Sept, Cloth Paper Scissors and was so pleased to see you featured. I showed my hubby and he was amazed...asking me how you did that.
Hope you get some rest and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Your stuff is an inspiration....I luv all the crisp white purity of it....like a freshly ironed dress shirt....I have recently become addicted to paper cut-outs...Me and my sister have started a tradition in which we do a shadowpuppet pantomime every year...once as a test run on the east coast (her: in d.c., me in: nyc) at a party...and then again for x-mas when we both go home to the Seattle area for the holidays...I've come to enjoy the different way yer mind has to think when do cut-outs...(kinda like printmaking...)...This December, I had the pleasure of attending a small dinner party at Beatrice Coron's apartment, here in NYC, she is a french woman, a total sweet heart, and a beautiful paper artist as well....Amazing how you latch onto a new thang, and suddenly a door swings wide, and all these amazing people, dedicated to a sub genre of art start crawling out of the woodwork....(I'd be honored if you wanted to check out my attempts on my flickr.com site (under "brilliant lite")...thanx, and I can't wait to see more of your really inspiring work...
